Australian BioRefining is developing and commercializing new process technologies to use plant products as feedstocks for sustainable production.
Our vision is clean sustainable production. "Green Chemistry" if you like.
We have developed a competitive process for manufacture of gluconic acid using table sugar as a feedstock. We are also developing processes for competitively producing fructose, mannitol, and 2 keto-gluconic acid from table sugar.
As well as using sugar as a feedstock, we are also investigating using cellulosic waste (bagasse) for manufacturing a range of food additives and industrial chemicals, as well as fly ash waste from sugar mill cogeneration plants to build environmental and agricultural remediation materials.
We select potential technologies for development based on the use of renewable resources / the potential to produce zero waste and pollution / and the economic potential of the technology.
Our approach is to target profitable as well as environmentally sustainable technology development.
